Gilbert, Arizona

Gilbert Gateway Towne Center is a regional power center at the northwest corner of Power Road and Ray Road in Gilbert, Arizona.  Major tenants include Super Target, Linens N Things, Ross, Pier 1 Imports and Cost Plus.  Suite 6 assisted project architects Butler Design Group in developing a regionally appropriate architectural vocabulary for the center. The overall design aethetic is derived from a working farmhouse vernacular, drawing on Gilbert’s agrarian history.  To interpret this design character, novel approaches to conventional building methods were specified, giving a lived-in, familiar patina to the finished buildings.  Materials include integrally colored board-formed cast concrete, stone, mortar washed block, heavy timber, corten steel and mission tile roofing.
